Student Individual Responsibility User (IRU) Accounts
Your Tulane student status entitles you to 5% off your monthly cellular service. As an IRU user there are also many ways for you to order new service and accessories, add lines to your account, or obtain the corporate discount on your existing wireless account.
Ordering through the Premier Website
The Premier site provides the easiest and most convenient option for IRUs to order equipment and service online. Click here to enter Premier.
Ordering through Cingular Retail Store
IRUs can order new service at a Cingular owned retail store. They are required to provide employee identification, such as employee badge or pay stub, in order to take advantage of corporate discounts available to the corporation.

Ordering Accessories
Cingular offers a comprehensive set of business accessories for your wireless voice and data devices, including chargers, Bluetooth, memory cards and more. This can be done by going to the Premier site.
To order accessories for the devices Cingular no longer carries, go to www.cingular.com/accessories or call the Accessory Hotline at 1-888-933-1313, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – midnight, Eastern Standard Time, Saturday 9 AM – 9 PM Eastern Standard Time, Sunday 10 AM – 9 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Accessory Hotline requires credit card payment.
Adding a Line to an Existing Billing Account
You may request that new lines of service be added to your existing accounts when ordering through Premier, National Business Ordering, or your Account Team. Be sure to mention the Foundation Account Number (

) when placing your order. If you would like all new activations to be added to a particular account or have other requirements that apply to all orders, please contact your Account Team.
Adding the Corporate Discount to an Existing Service
To obtain the Tulane monthly discount on your existing Cingular account, please visit www.cingular.com/discounts and follow the online IRU validation process. If the online process is not possible, you can also print, fill out and fax in your IRU certification form. The discount may take up to two bill cycles to apply.

Adding International Services
Cingular provides International Long Distance dialing capability from the U.S. to over 220 countries. Cingular also provides wireless voice roaming in more than 185 countries and data roaming in more than 115 countries. Add International Roaming and/or International Long Distance Dialing features prior to your travels.

Activating a Device after Receiving It
IRUs ordering new service from Premier or a Cingular retail store should follow the instructions received with the device.
If ordering a new wireless device from National Business Ordering toll-free number and the device is inactive upon arrival, please call the Contract Acceptance and Activation Line at
1-866-895-1099, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will need to have your wireless phone available and be prepared to provide Social Security Number and Billing ZIP code, as well as validate your employment with Tulane. IRU line validation is done by going to
www.cingular.com/discounts and following the instructions.

Upgrading Hardware at a Retail Store
IRUs End Users can buy new hardware at a Retail Store, however please note that the Retail Store may not carry all models that are available on the Premier site.
Equipment returns (within 30 Days)
Within 30 days of purchase, equipment can be returned and/or exchanged for new equipment. This exchange is usually done through the original ordering channel - National Business Ordering, Account Team, Premier or Cingular-owned Retail Store.
IRUs can return or exchange devices at a Cingular-owned retail store (please note that Cingular stores do not always carry all devices).

Equipment Warranty Exchange (30 days to one year)
All equipment that is over 30 days and prior to a year old is under a Manufacturer’s Warranty. To ensure seamless and efficient processing, Cingular will simply exchange your equipment for other similar equipment.

Reporting and Resolving Technical Data Quality Issues
For wireless data technical issues, please contact Advanced Network Services (ANS): . Cingular 1-800-331-0500 option 0, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 11 PM Eastern Standard Time and Saturday, 8 AM – 9 PM Eastern Standard Time
Choose the “wireless e-mail or wireless internet” option from the menu and you will reach the Advanced Network Services number. This number is only for technical troubleshooting while attempting to use data services, such as the phone internet browser, wireless e-mail, tethering, or other non-voice data services. As with all troubleshooting issues, be aware if the problem occurs:
- Everywhere, or only in certain areas
- Always, or just intermittently
